Accessibility

This site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. It has not been independently audited, and saying so is more useful than a badge.

Every text and background pairing on this site was computed, not eyeballed. Body text measures 9.89:1 on the page ground and 8.85:1 on the tinted band. Muted text measures 5.06:1 and 4.60:1. On the dark cloth bands, body text measures 6.16:1 and the gold measures 5.75:1 — on the slightly lighter sheets that sit inside those bands the same gold measures about 4.8:1, which still passes but is not the headline figure.

The gold is never used on the pale ground: there it would measure 2.72:1 and fail. That is a rule in the stylesheet, not a habit.

Quoted law is distinguished by typeface and by a citation, not by colour. Required form fields carry a word as well as a mark, and errors are sentences rather than red outlines.

The contents list is open at every width, nothing is hidden behind an animation, the questions are expanded, and the enquiry form validates on the server. JavaScript adds a contents toggle on narrow screens, one settling animation, and keyboard focus for a wide register that overflows. That last one is the single thing that is worse without scripting: the table is still complete and readable, but its scroll box is not keyboard-focusable. We would rather write that down than round it up to “everything works”.

There is one authored movement: a block settles once as it comes into view. If your system asks for reduced motion, it does not happen at all.

One h1 per page, headings in order, real landmarks, real tables with captions and row headers, and a skip link. Wide tables are announced as scrollable regions and given keyboard focus only when they actually overflow.

The rights page is built to print, because somebody will take it to an adjuster. The dark bands drop out, the citations survive, and links print their addresses.

Telephone and tell us. Or email info@foreverinmyheartjewelry.com. We would rather hear about it than not.
